I'm like fighting a tornando trying to steer away from eastern style here. OR which one to keep/go further... thought I think its messed up enough that its hard to tell the difference between one another =_=

I'd say to make the kids chubbier in general, maybe? That'd probably make the proportions you have on him now make him look even more childish without even touching them. I think.
I like the third one best, but they work nicely as a sequence. Maybe try simplifying the hair a bit.
